Hearing Assessment
Per the Managing Noise & Preventing Hearing Loss at Work Code of Practice 2011 s1.1 states "A person conducting a business or undertaking has the primary duty under the WHS Act to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that workers and other persons are not exposed to health and safety risks arising from the business or undertaking.
A person conducting a business or undertaking has more specific obligations under the WHS Regulations to manage the risks of hearing loss associated with noise at the workplace, including:
- ensuring that the noise a worker is exposed to at the workplace does not exceed the exposure standard for noise
- providing audiometric testing to a worker who is frequently required to use personal hearing protectors to protect the worker from hearing loss associated with noise that exceeds the exposure standard.
Electrical Testing
AS/NZS 3760:2010 specifies the generally observed safety inspection and maintenance standards for Australia.
This includes the safety inspection and testing of single and polyphase (240v - 415v) portable electrical equipment, and, machinery connected to supply by flexible cord which is currently in-service, returning to service, available for re-sale or hire.
